View Article  Poem For Remembrance Day (Veterans Day)
Two minutes of silence
Amidst a sea of red.
We proudly wear our poppies
As we remember the dead.

The soldiers who fought for us
So that we could be free.
And the civilians who lost their lives;
Caught up in the hostility.

The cessation of those war torn times
Is an event we should always remember
And so the world unites as one
On the 11th Day of November.

For the honour of our Armed Forces
And the terrible situations they face
Each time we think of our Heroes
It should be with a smile on our face.

View Article  Congratulations On Your Wedding Poem
You were my very  first Twitter friend,
Dearest DisneyBrideChar
And whilst you planned your wedding
I twittered from afar.

Time has passed so quickly
And now you have said "I do"
It's been an honour and a privilege
To share this time with you.

A Beautiful Cinderella Coach
Took you to meet your Groom.
I can't believe that you're married already
As it seems to have come round so soon.

You then got married al fresco
Surrounded by beautiful roses
And it made for gorgeous pictures
Of you in your Bridal poses.

And that is not forgetting
One more truly beautiful thing
When the Royal Footman Ringbearer
Brought you a glass slipper containing your ring.

A truly magical occasion
For a fabulous Disney Bride
And I'm sure all your friends and family
Were looking on with pride.

Exciting times ahead for you
After the happiest day of your life.
I hope that your brand new Husband
Will make you the happiest Wife!

So for being a lovely twitterer
I'd like to say thanks a lot
And may I say Congratulations
Now that you have tied the knot.

Finally let me wish you all the best
For a life filled with love and laughter.
Big Congratulations once again
And here's to your Happy Ever After!

View Article  Poem For Fun - Tea and Toast - My Favourite Meal
This is a poem that I wrote, inspired by just the three words 'my favourite meal'. As any new Mum will testify, after the fabulous meeting of your baby for the first time, you really do need something to eat and drink. I am lucky enough to have four beautiful daughters and after all that effort each time, even simple tea and toast tastes amazing. So without further ado, please find below "My Favourite Meal"!

My Favourite Meal

A round swollen tummy.
An urge from within.
They said that I would know
It was about to begin.

It gripped me so tightly.
Pinned me down to the bed.
It felt so destructive.
I wished I was dead.

I howled, then I whimpered.
Sweat moistened my face.
Oh, how I wished I was
In some other place.

The pain came again
And I called the midwife.
She soon would be with me
As I gave someone life.

A final contraction.
My baby appeared.
The pain that I suffered.
Completely disappeared.

I felt so elated
It was finally complete.
Now all that I needed
Was something to eat.

As I stared at my bundle,
(To whom I'd played host)
The kind Midwife brought me
Some tea and some toast.

Heaven mouthfuls;
The buttery crunch
Made up for the fact
That I'd laboured through lunch.

I'd delivered at tea time
But missed out on my dinner.
Hot tea and buttered toast though
Was definitely a winner.

The simplest of foodstuffs
Tasted out of this world.
I sighed with contentment
Looking at my baby girl.

So, when I eat toast now
It evokes memories so real
And that is why it was
My Favourite Meal.
