The X Factor Final

Here we all are. We've reached the X Factor final show,
And we're about to crown our winner; Will it be Olly or Joe?
All twelve finalists came to perform for the last time
And I've been looking forward to two great versions of Miley Cyrus' "The Climb."

We were treated to an amazing collaboration by Alexandra and JLS;
Both previous X Factor finalists, who are now enjoying their success.
They work well as a five-piece and have talent written clearly all over
And then the icing on the cake was a ballad from our superstar Leona.

So back to the competition, and the wonderful winner's song;
Olly Murs was complimented as his performance was very strong.
Joe McElderry then took the stage to face his final curtain;
Both were really good, and even Simon was uncertain.

In a final, reminiscent of that of Gareth Gates and Will Young
It's just been too close to call and either could have won.
George Michael and Paul McCartney bobbed in before we say goodbye
And I had tingles down my spine when I heard the classic "Live and Let Die!"

The X Factor pulled out the stops and the final has been superb;
Treating us to some of the finest performances that we've ever heard.
So without further ado, here's the climax of the show;
It's commiserations to Olly and congratulations to Joe.

From everyday life, to pop stardom beginning
It's not the taking part that counts, it truly is the winning!
The X Factor 2009 has now finished for the year
And I'd like to wish Joe all the best for a glittering career!

Joe McElderry now gets to live out the life of his dreams
As the very latest winner of the "Cheryl Cole" Machine.
Two times she has won now, as the nation's sweetheart;
Simon Cowell knew what he was doing when he asked her to take part!
